💎 What Personal Data We Collect and Why ?
Comments
We collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to enable spam detection when visitors leave comments on the site.
We may provide an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. You can find the Gravatar service privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Your profile picture may be visible to the public next to your comment after your comment is approved.
Media
Avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included if and when you upload images to the website. Visitors to the website may be able to download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
You can opt-in to save your name and email address in cookies if you leave a comment on our site. These are available for your convenience to avoid the hassle of filling in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will expire after one year.
We will set up a temporary cookie if you log in to this site from an account, to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie will contain no personal data and will be discarded when you close your browser.
We will also set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices when you log in. Login cookies will expire after two days, and screen options cookies after one year. Your login will persist for two weeks if you select “Remember Me”. The login cookies will be removed if you log out of your account.
An additional cookie will be saved in your browser if you edit or publish an article. This cookie will not include any personal data and will simply indicate the post ID of the article you edited. It will expire after 1 day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may contain embedded content like videos, images, articles, etc. Embedded content from other websites will behave exactly as if you have visited the other website.
These websites may collect your data, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. If you have an account and are logged in to that website, it may also track your interaction with the embedded content.
How Long We Retain Your Data
The comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely if you leave a comment so that we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For registered users on our website (if any), we may also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information except their username at any time. Our website administrators too can see and edit that information.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
You can request an exported file copy of your personal data that we have, including any data you have provided to us if you have an account or have left comments on this site. You can also request us to erase any personal data we hold about you. This is not inclusive of any data that we are obliged to keep or may require for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where We Send Your Data
We may check your comments through an automated spam detection service.
